Why Watch Tron: Legacy?

December 11, 2010

It’s few more days ahead, I can see how excited you are to watch Tron: Legacy and enter the word of virtual reality. The fuss probably brings you here, looking for some Tron updates. I was toiling on some reviews, so far I only gobble a few details; hope it could give you what you wanted.

Disney admits that the 1982 Tron was a flop movie, but Disney is securing the Grid to run on the track confidently. The Grid was rebooted causing Disney to swing an estimated amount of $170 million- the number alone could speak the movie itself.

I just wonder how Disney uses paints and brushes to make the 1982 Tron a luminous virtual iconographic movie sketch. As far as I know, the 1982 Tron budget took around $ 17 million- it is only 10% of the recent budget, imagine how Disney took a big leap this time, but it grossed only for about 33 million US dollars. Disney are pushing too much efforts just to drag Tron back into business, but sad to say Tron was a chestnut, and no one seems to tell stories about virtual reality and game world, excepts you probably. If you ever ask someone what is Tron, probably you might get the same old answer “a virtual game”. But how come the people remember Tron’s namesake game but not the story? I am not telling you not to watch Tron: Legacy, yup, Tron is a good movie who bugs computer geeks nearly 3 decades ago, but most people now getting busy praising some super heroes or killing zombies, but throwing Frisbees and riding light cycles? I don’t know. But I admit, embedding Daft Punk in the ‘Grid’ was really good idea. This French electronic music duo was really hard rock totally scratches for an eargasmic scores. If the something I would like in Tron: Legacy, I would rather go listening ‘Derezzed’ that watching the entire movie.

Anyway, if you still persist on watching Tron: Legacy just buckle up because Tron: Legacy will hit the theaters on December 17th.
